Summary of event:

Aims:

– Establish your skills to deliver a comprehensive POCUS study on the critically ill and trauma patient
– Gain competencies in the four core domains of POCUS recommended by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine 2021 guidelines
– Practice the RUSH protocol for the shocked patient, including DVT assessment

Sessions:

– Small teaching groups (max 3 candidates per group, 1 tutor per group) to maximise scanning time with state-of-the-art US machines and hand-held devices
– Expert faculty of Consultants in Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine and Intensive Care
– 4.5 hrs of hands-on practice on models, high-tech simulators and clinical scenarios
– High-quality phantom models for vascular access
