Major Trauma Life Support (MTLS) CPD course

Event dates: 23rd or 24th October 2023

Venue: Emergency Medicine Academic Centre (EMAC), University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff

Summary of event: The MTLS course is a bespoke trauma education course for doctors, nurses, and allied healthcare professionals involved in acute trauma care. With content based on national trauma guidelines and nursing and medical curricular requirements, healthcare staff will find this course relevant and applicable to their clinical practice.

The MTLS course structure consists of 3 components:

  • An e-learning component (7 modules)
  • A face-to-face (F2F) component (October)
  • An online virtual assessment component

This 1-day in-person bespoke trauma CPD course aims to increase skills and confidence in trauma management in relation to clinical scenarios and cover the following section of the RCEM 2021 curriculum:

  • SLO 4 – Care for injured patients across the full range of complexity
