Dr Susan Dorrian has officially taken up the post of West Midlands Regional Chair for the Royal College of Emergency Medicine.
Dr Susie Dorrian, an Emergency Medicine Consultant at University Hospitals Birmingham and former Clinical Lead at UHB, has officially taken up her post as Regional Chair for the West Midlands in England.
Dr Dorrian said, “As West Midlands regional chair, I want to represent the voices of 100s of Emergency Medicine Consultants, Trainees, Specialty Doctors and ACPs that work in Emergency Care in our region. For those who haven’t met me, I work at University Hospitals Birmingham for 10 years as a consultant having trained in region too, I’ve been involved in training, and acted as UHB Clinical service lead.
“The West Midlands is a diverse region, with all of us facing the same challenges with flow within our system and stretched primary care services – I want to ensure that RCEM policies offer realistic and feasible solutions in our context of working. I believe that we have lots to learn from each other within region, and will seek to strengthen our network, both to aid our members’ wellbeing and to aid the delivery of consistent high quality care to our patients.”
The College is pleased to announce Dr Dorrian and wishes her every success in his new role.
