Region: East of England
Primary Profession: Nurse
Organisation: Northampton General Hospital, NHS Trust
Email: eofeacpforumrep@rcem.ac.uk

Profile: I have been a qualified nurse for over 14 years. During this time the role has given me a myriad of experiences working in critical care, tropical diseases, travel health, film & television, emergency medicine and pre-hospital care. It has taken me around the world, from working in remote areas on expeditions, serving in the armed forces and to the Olympic games in London 2012.

I have spent the last 5 years working as an ACP specialising in emergency medicine. I am passionate about the vital role ACPs play in the workforce and strategies to support ACPs is the current focus of my doctoral studies. I have credentialled with the Royal College of Nursing and currently working towards my RCEM portfolio. I am incredibly proud to be an ACP and consider it my superpower. My drive to give all ACPs the platform to have their voice heard led me to more recently take on the role of Lead for Advanced Clinical Practice for our organisation.

It is my pleasure to represent the East of England on the RCEM ACP forum. I look forward to working with you all over the next 3 years to raise our collective voices and drive positive change for the future.

Email: londonacpforumrep@rcem.ac.uk

Profile: I currently work as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in Emergency Medicine and work as an ACP2 on my journey towards credentialing and having recently moved to the new 2022 Curriculum. My journey started as an ambulance fleet assistant within the ambulance where I found my love for emergency medicine. I began training as an emergency care assistant in 2014 in Oxfordshire and an Emergency Medical Technician 2015 for the Welsh Ambulance Service in Pwllheli and it was there where I learned about the evolving role of the ACP in Emergency Medicine. As I qualified, I found myself gaining experience through part time work in secondary care including working in Cardiff’s Major trauma centre in a specialist major trauma role where I gained my independent and supplementary prescribing training and exposure to the ED leading me to a role as an ACP.

As a member of the RCEM forum I will be supporting the ACPs within London with news and guidance around learning and development. I will be supporting regular learning sessions relating to the curriculum as part of my role. I have a keen interest in furthering the career for Paramedics and Nurses after credentialing and hope to be able to support this progression. Away from RCEM I am involved with pre-hospital care and have an interest in retrieval, transfer and rural medicine.
