The Royal College of Emergency Medicine has taken the decision to cancel several examinations due to the further escalation of coronavirus Covid-19.
The cancelled examinations are:
We had hoped to be able to run these exams but unfortunately the situation has changed as the Covid-19 pandemic starts to significantly impact on Emergency Departments and with the closure of two of the planned FRCEM Final written examination centres.
Our members are on the frontline of the current crisis and as a College we have a duty to support frontline patient care, and to ensure that all healthcare professionals are not taken away from this. However, we know that training standards are vital, as such we are investigating dates and resources for revised sittings. Further information will be sent to candidates next week. Examination fees will be transferred.
We are sorry for the disruption the cancellation of these examinations will cause and acknowledge that this will be disappointing to candidates who will have studied hard.
We are working with the GMC, education bodies and the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges to issue further advice regarding the completion of examination required for CCT.
Other exams not listed above are still due to go ahead but may be revised at a later date; all candidates will be informed if anything changes.
