The Royal College of Emergency Medicine (RCEM) is looking for an organised, proactive and collaborative Clinical Quality Officer to join our Clinical Quality team and support the delivery of national quality improvement initiatives across Emergency Medicine.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong organisational, administrative and stakeholder management skills to contribute to programmes and initiatives that help improve patient care and support the emergency medicine workforce across the UK.
Reporting to the Head of Clinical Quality, you will play a key role in supporting the administration and coordination of a broad range of Clinical Quality activity, including GreenED, Quality Improvement Programmes, Better Basics, Better Care, Invited Service Reviews, Advisory Appointment Committees and Clinical Quality Committees.
In this varied role, you will support the delivery of Clinical Quality projects and programmes through effective administration, stakeholder engagement and data coordination. You will organise meetings and committees, prepare agendas and papers, take accurate minutes and track actions to ensure workstreams progress effectively.
You will act as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, supporting workshops, conferences and engagement activity while maintaining strong working relationships across the College and with partner organisations. The role will also involve maintaining project documentation, reports, databases and risk registers, alongside supporting website and portal updates.
In addition, you will support the collection, organisation and presentation of data relating to Clinical Quality programmes, ensuring all information is managed in line with UK GDPR requirements and organisational policies.
This is a fast-paced and collaborative role that offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of quality improvement initiatives within a purpose-driven organisation. You will need to be highly organised, confident managing multiple priorities and comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders while contributing to the College’s mission to improve emergency care across the UK.
We are looking for someone who is highly organised, detail focused and able to manage multiple priorities within a busy and evolving environment. You will be a confident communicator who enjoys building positive working relationships and delivering high quality administrative and operational support.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience working within an administrative or coordination role in a professional office environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work to tight deadlines
- Experience organising meetings and committees, including preparing agendas, taking minutes and tracking actions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer service skills
- Confidence working independently whilst also collaborating effectively as part of a wider team
- High levels of attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word and Excel
- Experience maintaining databases, documentation and reports
- A proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused approach to work
We would particularly welcome candidates who have experience or an interest in healthcare, quality improvement, clinical audit or working within membership organisations, the NHS or the wider healthcare sector. Experience analysing and presenting data, supporting research or surveys, or working with websites and online systems would also be advantageous.
📍 This role is based at London Bridge, London, with hybrid working.
📅 Contract: 35 hours per week, full‑time, permanent, with excellent benefits.
