This event covers safety issues, pre-procedural assessments, the role of radiology in insertion of chest drains safely and how to deal with complications. Video demonstrations will be given, before delegates join practical workshops on state-of-the-art mannequins in small groups.

Learning objectives:
- To increase awareness of mortality and morbidity secondary to chest drain insertion
- To increase awareness of use of appropriate imaging and limitation of conventional radiology
- To provide hands-on experience on both medical and surgical chest drain insertion on state-of-the-art mannequins
- To discuss safety issues, learning requirements and a number of procedures to be competent
