+ Do I need to download specific software to attend the virtual event?

You do not need to download any software. You will be emailed a login for the virtual event platform, which we recommend you access through an up-to-date version of Google Chrome.

There will also be an app version of the platform available should you wish to download it. To download this, visit either the Apple App Store or Google Play store and search for RCEM Events.

All audience questions for speakers, and any polling will happen via the virtual platform for both onsite and virtual delegates. We, therefore, recommend bringing a smartphone or tablet onsite if you are attending in person to enable you to participate fully in the event.

Track 1 of the conference will be available online for the virtual delegates to watch. Tracks 2 and 3 of the conference will not be available for virtual delegates.

Track 1 of the conference will also be recorded and available for 12-months post-event for both face-to-face and virtual delegates to re-watch. Tracks 2 and 3 of the conference will not be available on demand.

+ How do I receive my CPD certificate of attendance?

Certificates will be emailed to all attendees 10 working days after the event.

If you attend face-to-face then this certificate will reflect each day that you had your onsite badge scanned for. Please note, we are only able to provide certificates for those days which you have scanned in for, so do ensure you scan your badge for each day that you attend the conference.

If you attend virtually then this certificate will reflect each day that you signed in to the virtual platform with your personal account.

+ Are young children welcome at the event?

Yes, we welcome young children onsite to our conferences. Parents or carers are welcome to watch the conference from the main conference room with the other delegates.

Alternatively, we have a family room onsite. The conference will be live-streamed into the family room so parents or carers will not miss any conference content when in there. There will be onsite access to a fridge should you wish to store any baby food or breastmilk.

Should you have any further questions about bringing young children to the conference please email events@rcem.ac.uk.

+ Are pre-conference workshops being held virtually or face-to-face?

All pre-conference workshops will be held in-person only.

The pre-conference workshops will take place at The Glasshouse, St Mary’s Square, Gateshead NE8 2JR

+ As a face-to-face delegate, what catering can I expect during the Annual Scientific Conference?

We support meat-free catering as part of RCEM’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2040 or sooner, and as a founding member of the UK Health Alliance for Climate Change. Many delegates support this and request a vegetarian or vegan option for their lunch.

You will be asked if you have any dietary requirements as part of the registration form when booking your place at the conference. All specified dietary requirements will be catered for, including requesting a meat based meal if this is preferred to vegetarian options.

+ I have more questions, who do I contact?

Please contact us at events@rcem.ac.uk with any further questions.
