Frequently asked questions

+ How do I book my place at the Annual Scientific Conference?

Registration is not currently open for the Annual Scientific Conference, but you can register your interest and be the first to hear when it does open by clicking here.

For face-to-face tickets, registration will close on Monday 26 September at midday (BST). Please note, registration may close earlier if the venue capacity has been reached.

For virtual tickets, registration will close on Tuesday 4 October at 07:00 (BST).

+ Is this a face-to-face or virtual event?

This event is taking place as a face-to-face event in Belfast. Track-one of the conference will be live-streamed for people who wish to attend virtually, through our bespoke virtual event platform.

+ When and where will the face-to-face event take place?

The main conference will take place on 4 – 6 October 2022. Pre-conference workshops will take place on 3 October 2022.

The conference and pre-conference workshops will be held at the ICC Belfast, 2 Lanyon Place, Belfast, BT1 3WH.

+ Will there be social distancing and COVID secure regulations at the event?

We will review government guidelines relating to COVID secure measures in the run-up to the event. We will make all onsite delegates aware prior to coming onsite of any measures that are in place. This could include social distancing, lateral flow testing, or showing your vaccination status before entering the venue.

We will work closely with the venue to ensure fresh-air ventilation is in operation throughout the conference.

+ Do I need to download specific software to attend the virtual event?

You do not need to download any software. You will be emailed a login for the virtual event platform, which we recommend you access through an up-to-date version of Google Chrome.

There will also be an app version of the platform available should you wish to download it. To download this, visit either the Apple App Store or Google Play store and search for RCEM Events.

All audience questions for speakers, and any polling will happen via the virtual platform for both onsite and virtual delegates. We, therefore, recommend bringing a smartphone or tablet onsite if you are attending in person to enable you to participate fully in the event.

+ Will the sessions be recorded and available on-demand?

Track-one of the conference will be available online for the virtual delegates to watch.

This track will also be recorded and available for 12-months post-event for both face-to-face and virtual delegates to re-watch.

+ How do I receive my certificate of attendance?

Certificates will be emailed to all attendees 10 working days after the event.

If you attend face-to-face then this certificate will reflect each day that you signed in at the registration desk.

If you attend virtually then this certificate will reflect each day that you signed in to the virtual platform with your personal account.
