September will see a period of change in leadership for the College, with a new President and additional Vice-Presidents starting terms of office.
- Ian ‘Higgi’ Higginson takes over from Adrian Boyle as the new President, as Adrian steps down following his three-year Presidency.
- Maya Naravi, Salwa Malik and Jason Long have all been appointed for second three-year terms as Vice-Presidents.
- Two new VPs have also been appointed: Russell Duncan, currently the Chair of the Training Standards Committee and Sally-Anne Wilson, current Chair of the Yorkshire and Humber region and Chair of the Safer Care Committee, will both become new VPs.
The appointments are made through a nominations and interview selection process.
VP Scotland remains Fiona Hunter and VP Wales remains Rob Perry, while a new VP for Northern Ireland will also be sought as Russell McLaughlin steps down.
The President and VPs make up the Executive of the College, and lead in different areas of College business, making recommendations to the College’s wider council which has oversight of key College business.
