Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is essential for maintaining high standards of care and ensuring ongoing learning throughout your career in Emergency Medicine. RCEM provides a range of tools and resources to help you plan, record and reflect on your CPD activities, including the online CPD Diary, tailored study days and events, and access to high-quality e-learning and research through the Emergency Medicine Journal.
Our approach focuses on the quality and impact of your CPD, rather than the number of hours completed. We encourage Members and Fellows to reflect on their learning, link activities to personal development plans, and draw on a variety of opportunities both within and outside the workplace.

CPD Events
RCEM offers a range of CPD opportunities, including College study days, courses and conferences.
CPD should be high-quality, relevant to your practice and linked to your personal development plan.
One CPD credit normally equates to one hour of educational activity, but the value depends on your individual learning outcomes.
RCEM does not award CPD credits to external events. It is your responsibility to assess whether an activity is suitable for your development needs.
