Dr Rob Perry takes on role of Vice President Wales

6 December 2023

The College would like to welcome Dr Rob Perry, Emergency Medicine Consultant at Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, to the role of Vice President Wales.

Dr Perry was previously Vice Chair of the Royal College of Emergency Medicine Wales and takes over the role from Dr Suresh Pillai, who has completed his three-year term. We wish Dr Pillai well and thank him for his dedication, advocacy, and the fantastic work he’s done for both the College and Emergency Medicine in Wales.

Dr Perry said: “It is a challenging time for all colleagues working in Emergency Medicine in Wales.

“As Vice President I will continue the good work that Suresh has been doing, and engage with the Welsh Government and other stakeholders and partners to advocate on behalf of our membership and their patients.

“I will advocate for safe, equitable and high-quality emergency care, effective training, and sustainable working practices.

“I sincerely thank Suresh for his dedication and diligence for all our members and colleagues in Wales.”

The College is delighted to welcome Dr Perry to the role and wishes him every success in his new position.
