1 June 2022

Congratulating HM The Queen on her Platinum Jubilee Dr Katherine Henderson, President of The Royal College of Emergency Medicine, said:

“The Royal College is both honoured and privileged to be incorporated by Royal Charter and proud to have HRH The Princess Royal as our esteemed Patron. We congratulate Her Majesty The Queen on her Platinum Jubilee and we thank Her Majesty for her unwavering service to the United Kingdom.

“The country will look forward to jubilant celebrations, festivities and street parties over the four-day weekend celebrating HRH and the Platinum Jubilee. It is an exciting time however we must ask the public to be safe and responsible in their celebrations.

“The health service and the urgent and emergency care system remain under unprecedented pressure with many patients facing long waits for ambulances and long waits in A&Es. While we anticipate some rise in demand, we hope that the public will stay safe and responsible and prevent any requirement for emergency care. Whether you are partying and drinking at work with colleagues, or at home with friends or family, enjoy the celebrations and the weekend, but please take care of yourselves and those around you.”
