We are immensely saddened to hear of the death of Her Majesty The Queen.
The College – Council and Board of Trustees, Membership and staff of the College – send our deepest sympathy and condolences to the Royal Family.
Her Majesty was an incredible figurehead for the country, a guiding, indomitable character acting as quiet inspiration for a nation through some of its most difficult days. A truly historic figure, the likes of which the world is unlikely to see again.
Her service – in particular, her support for the NHS, its staff and patients – over such a long period, during such a period of change, showed who she truly was; someone who loved her country and people immeasurably. We are all very grateful for her service and who she was.
In a divided world, she provided a constant and was a unifying force. We are sure that despite the strife our world faces, the challenges at home and the political differences between nations, the world will pause to reflect on the loss of and pay tribute to a magnificent leader and a magnificent human being. Our sorrow unites us at this sad time.
Our Patron Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, The King, and the Royal Family are in the thoughts and prayers of the entire Emergency Medicine family at this most difficult of times.
