RCEM to move Annual Scientific Conference online

13 May 2020

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic The Royal College of Emergency Medicine has taken the decision to change its Annual Scientific Conference to an online only event.

The conference was due to be held at Manchester Central on 12-14 October 2020 but is now to be hosted online.

This conference looks at the cutting edge of emergency medicine and features nationally and internationally acclaimed keynote speakers.

RCEM Chief Executive, Gordon Miles said: “As frontline clinicians, our Members and Fellows continue to be called upon to care for patients during this pandemic and it is therefore in the best interest of the NHS, our communities and our members themselves to cancel our physical events.

“We are exploring all options on how best to run future events and looking to move what we can online, particularly our Annual Scientific Conference. We are still working out the logistics of this but hope to open registration very soon.

“We understand members will be disappointed to not physically be together but hope to provide an excellent alternative full of the usual high quality, thought-provoking presentations that showcase best practice in Emergency Medicine.”

While the format has changed, the Conference is still due to take place in October 2020. Members and Fellows can register their interest here to be the first to hear when registration opens.

We thank our Members and Fellows for their understanding, patience and cooperation in these difficult times.
