The British Medical Journal Group and RCEM are seeking an “ambitious and dynamic” Editor-in-Chief for the Emergency Medicine Journal (EMJ).
The Editor-in-Chief has overall responsibility for the content and editorial strategy of the journal with support from their editorial team and BMJ Group publishing staff.
The ideal candidate will be an active researcher and/or clinician ambassador, upholding the highest ethical standards and editorial policies, as well as actively promoting and developing the journal.
The candidate should have a strong publication record, as well as experience of working in a senior editorial role on an academic journal.
Applicants should also have an MD and PhD (or similar degree) and should be able to demonstrate their impact in the field. Editorial experience in a decision-making role is essential.
The EMJ is a monthly publication including original research, evidence-based reviews and commentaries on resuscitation, trauma, minor injuries, disaster preparedness and response, toxicology, acute medical and paediatric emergencies, diagnostic testing, teaching, clinical operations, decision making and many other topics.
