25 February 2026
On Tuesday 24 February 2026, a small number of candidates logged into their RCEM Account and were accidentally able to view pre-adjudication data within the results field for the MRCEM SBA exam.
We apologise for any confusion or distress to affected candidates but can assure you the results to be published to you tomorrow are accurate and correct.
We identified this issue during our results quality assurance process and we immediately took steps to rectify this. We are investigating the cause(s) of the issue so that we can make sure this does not happen again.
We would like to reassure candidates that the results are calculated through the Angoff Method, which is set before the exam. Following the exam, all RCEM results undergo an enhanced and rigorous results processing procedure including adjudication which determines the final exam results. Following this process, all results are reviewed and signed off by the Lead and Chief Examiners. Results are only finalised and valid once RCEM officially confirm the release to candidates by email and so the results temporarily shown on some members’ RCEM accounts were not the final results.
