“Not dead yet”: The older emergency clinician

The event aims to shine a light on the topic of older emergency clinicians, and to provide a practical guide on how to approach this important area, both from the point of view of the individual, and of the departmental leader. The tone will be positive and fun, but the content will be hard-edged and useful to a wide range of clinicians.

Please note, registration for this event will close on Wednesday 7 October, but may close earlier if capacity is reached.

Learning objectives

  • Examine the range of challenges facing EM and its workforce, particularly those associated with ageing while still practising
  • Support and empower clinicians throughout their careers to plan effectively, access support, and maintain their health, wellbeing, and professional fulfilment
  • Increase EM leaders’ awareness of the challenges facing ageing clinicians to improve guidance, support and workforce planning
  • Enable earlier-career emergency clinicians to make informed decisions about their career pathways and professional development
