Join us for an on demand study day packed with dynamic presentations on key PHEM topics, delivered through anonymised real world cases and expert insight from PHEM clinicians. Explore the challenging decision-making, management strategies, extrication techniques, and triage considerations that shape pre-hospital emergency care.

These cases will shine a light on the complexities of the pre-hospital environment and critically examine how care transitions between out of hospital and in hospital settings—promoting shared learning across both worlds.

This study day is ideal for EM clinicians who are curious about, or currently working in, pre-hospital emergency medicine. It’s also perfect for those who want to test their knowledge on the emergency management of life-threatening or complex conditions in patients of all ages.

Learning objectives:

  • Learn how to describe the initial clinical management of patients with specific presentations of life-threatening injury and illness (including HALO procedures)
  • Understand the complexities of decision-making, resource limited management, triage and extrication in the pre-hospital setting
  • Plan and prepare for optimal patient care in the handover phase from the pre-hospital team on arrival to ED
  • Appraise the latest pre-hospital research and the applicability to ED care
