+ Event summary

Join us for this year’s EMSAS conference, once again taking place as a hybrid event with the face to face venue in Cardiff.

The programme is coming together with topics including:

  • PEM
  • HALO procedures
  • Trauma management
  • Cannabis for pain management
  • Dealing with complaints
  • The role of the medical examiner
  • Rare presentations in the ED
  • The overseas perspective

As well as these great sessions, there will also be the opportunity to present your own work, so if you have a QIP or research project, abstract submissions for the Andrew Newton Cup will be opening in the next few months.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Face to face registration will close on Wednesday 29 October at 11:59, or earlier is capacity is reached.

Virtual registration will close at 08:00 on Wednesday 12 November.

+ Who should attend

This event is tailored to SASG doctors, however all are welcome to attend.

+ Programme + Abstract submission

Each year at the EMSAS Conference we invite abstract submissions for the Andrew Newton Cup. This year we invite you to submit 300 words on one of the following topics:

  • Local initiative project report
  • QIP
  • Audit (excluding RCEM national audits)
  • Research
  • Interesting or rare case report

This is an opportunity for EM doctors to showcase their work and also present it at a national conference. It is good for those wishing to put their work out there and those who need it for portfolio evidence.

The deadline for submission is Wednesday 3 September. You will hear whether or not your submission has been successful from Thursday 18 September.

Top scoring submitters will be invited to give an oral presentation at the conference and the next group of top scoring submissions will be invited to present their work as a poster. If your work is accepted, you will need to attend the face to face event in Cardiff in order to present your work.

Please note whilst we welcome submissions from all EM clinicians, only SAS grade doctors are eligible to win the cup.

Submit your abstract here.
