South East Coast Emergency Medicine & Wellbeing Conference

There’s just two weeks to go till our South East Coast Emergency Medicine Conference! The conference is being co-hosted with HEKSS School of EM, and will take place on Friday, 24th June 2022.

If you work in Emergency Health Care in Kent, Sussex or Surrey and you’re looking for CPD and some downtime, then please do join us and fellow colleagues from across the region for a one day conference with a difference.

The conference is open for ALL EM health care professionals. Please feel welcome to share this invitation with all your EM friends and colleagues.

Contents on the day will include:

  • A keynote lecture from the RCEM President-elect, Adrian Boyle
  • Updates from around the South East Coast region on QI, research and performance
  • Review of the Top 10 EM papers in 2021
  • The latest trauma education
  • Educational updates for supervisors and trainees from EM experts and leaders
  • A diverse range of hands-on workshops, plus testing of the latest high-tech kit
  • Highlights on wellbeing in the ED
  • Expert advice on how to mitigate individual and team stress in the Emergency Department
  • An evening drinks reception with bespoke cocktails, mocktails and canapés
  • A Question Time inspired event with our local MPs. All conference attendees will have the opportunity to submit questions prior to the event and the top few will be selected for discussion.

CPD Opportunities
All attendees are eligible to submit abstracts of 300 words max on Quality Improvement. The top three will have the opportunity to deliver an oral presentation to the region. All other entries will be accepted for a regional poster presentation. The poster must be A1 sized and portrait oriented. Prizes for the best oral presentation and the best poster will also be awarded. If you have a poster non-QIP related, we would still be happy for you to present!

The deadline to express interest in submitting a poster is Friday, 17th June at midnight. For those interested in our oral presentation competition, the deadline for submitting your short abstract is Monday, 20th June at midnight. The decision will be made on 21st June re top 3 selected. Those not successful are encouraged to submit for poster presentation.

Further Information
The event will take place at the Brighton Harbour Hotel and Spa, 64 Kings Road, Brighton, BN1 1NA. This lovely setting is right on the seafront, the perfect place to relax and catch up with friends and colleagues. This is also an opportunity for some social downtime. Our conference host has given us access to their fantastic subterranean spa facilities, with steam room, sauna and pool (placed for this are limited so book quickly).

If you need somewhere to stay or are looking to take a deserved weekend break, we have arranged for discounted accommodation at the beautiful seafront Brighton Harbour Hotel.

There are limited rooms available and discounted rates for rooms overnight ends this Friday, 10th June so book fast! A room will allow you free access to the spa and gym and give parking access too. Get in touch with the Harbour Hotel Central reservations team to book.

There will be a discounted NCP car park charge but this will only be given to those who book conference tickets. Details will be sent in the week of the conference.
