+ Event summary

Join us for the RCEM Emergency Medicine Industry Research Symposium, tailored to navigate the dynamic landscape of industry and commercial collaboration in Emergency Medicine.

The programme features thought provoking talks and multiple case studies highlighting real-world applications of cutting-edge technologies and examples of successful emergency care commercial collaborations.

Kicking off, we delve into the basics of commercial research and funding pathways. We will cover how to talk to industry, the roles of sponsors, how to navigate industry partnerships and contracts and how to find yourself time to take these collaborations forwards. We will discuss how to overcome barriers to effective implementation from an industry perspective and will cover how to bridge the gap from a novel idea arising through your clinical practice to taking this forward into a well-developed innovative collaboration. Following this, we will run through through case studies presented by clinicians and industry that span AI, big data, pharmaceutical trials, medical devices, pre-hospital technologies, and more.

In the afternoon, one-hour workshops will focus on pre-submitted challenge questions from industry organisations. This is a great opportunity to collaborate with clinicians and academics to solve these challenges together.

Registered clinicians and academics can prioritize which industry challenge, they want to discuss, based on their interests and expertise. This ensures that each workshop benefits from the most relevant and knowledgeable participants.

Overall, this event will provide an invaluable platform for clinicians and industry partners to understand the landscape and gain practical knowledge around commercial collaboration and industry research. It will enable attendees to explore emerging technologies and to develop collaborations during the novel industry challenge workshops and extensive networking time.
