Meet the incoming ACP Chair

19 July 2022

My name is Ashleigh Lowther, I am the incoming ACP (Advanced Care Practitioner) Chair.

I am a dual credentialed RCEM ACP working in the Emergency Department in Derriford Hospital in Plymouth. I trained as a nurse in the RAF for 10 years before joining the NHS full-time.

Since then, I have worked in RESUS and the Emergency Department. I have also worked as a specialist advisor to the CQC and as an aeromedical repatriation nurse for CEGA.

My core interests are patient safety in the Emergency Department, learning and education on the ‘shop floor’ for the whole team, and developing excellent trauma teams.

My goal for this role is to continue the fantastic work that has been started by the previous ACP Chair, Olivia, and the inaugural ACP Forum, to keep a steady ship and be available for the ACP body. I want to successfully recruit a new ACP Forum starting in September 2022 and hope that together we can continue defining the path for Emergency Department ACPs within the College.
