New RCEM North West England Regional Chair Begins Term

19 April 2021

Dr Andy Ashton has officially taken up the post of North West England Regional Chair for the Royal College of Emergency Medicine. Dr Ashton is an Emergency Consultant at Whiston Hospital.

Dr Andy Ashton said, “I am honoured to be taking up this post and I’m really looking forward to working with members in the region. I want to make sure that the work I carry out as Regional Chair delivers as much value as possible to the members of RCEM and I aim to do this through increasing engagement between members and the College.

“I hope to accurately represent the views and experiences of members in the North West to RCEM and also report the activities of the College back to those working in the region.

“One of my main aims is to restart RCEM meetings in the region; I want these meetings to be a place where Trainees, Staff Grades, and Consultants can come together to receive educational content, share experiences, and informally catch up with colleagues in the North West.”

The College is pleased to welcome Dr Ashton and wishes him every success in his new role.
