We have had to make changes to the recruitment process due to the current pandemic. These plans comply with principles agreed by the Medical National Recruitment (MDRS) for all specialties.
ACCS Recruitment
Interviews will be held online. Each candidate will have one interview in one station for 30 minutes with two panel members involving portfolio and commitment to speciality.
Applicants will sit the MSRA – this consists of two papers and will have scores added together. This has a focus on clinical and ethical elements, so there is no need to reproduce this part in the interview.

DRE-EM, ST3 and HST Recruitment
Applicants will be required to fill in a Self-Assessment form as part of the application process and upload evidence to support this. This will be verified by panel members before interview slots are offered.
Interviews will be held online. Each candidate will have a 20-30 minute interview with a two person panel involving prioritisation, communication and a clinical / ethical scenario.
