Ultrasound skills a bit rusty? Not sure how to get the most out of your department’s machine? Feel like POCUS training has changed since you trained and want an update? Then this session is for you!

The ultrasound safe space is a half day session giving consultants the opportunity to hone their core ultrasound skills in a relaxed and non- judgemental environment to gain tips, tricks and confidence applying ultrasound skills to your patients.

Pre-reading will be distributed prior to the session to ensure there is as much scanning time as possible. We will cover the basics:

Aorta and ivc assessment
E-fast
Echo in cardiac arrest
Procedural guidance

This session is aimed at consultants who have completed level one or core ultrasound training previously and are looking for a refresher. This will complement the afternoon session for those considering both sessions.

This half day session will cover how to use point of care ultrasound to optimise care of the hypotensive patient. It is aimed at any EM clinician who uses POCUS in the ED. knowledge and experience of the core curriculum would be expected as this will be built upon during the session.

This will complement the “safe space” session in the morning for those who are eligible to attend both.
